Compass

We are pleased to share that Highgate Primary School has launched Compass for parents. Compass is the Education Department’s new online platform, designed to make communication and school processes easier and more efficient for families.

What Compass will be used for

Families will be able to use the Compass Parent Portal to:

  • Report student absences
  • Receive school messages and updates
  • Stay informed about upcoming events
  • Provide consent for excursions and in-school activities
  • Pay for school events directly through the app

Compass will help streamline communication and reduce the number of school platforms parents need to use.

We will temporarily continue to use both Connect and Compass, with the intention to phase out Connect by the end of 2025.

Accessing Compass

Parent/Guardian 1 and 2 will receive an email containing:

  • Your Compass username, and
  • A one-time passcode for your first login

You can access Compass through the website or by downloading the Compass app via the App Store or Google Play.

If you do not receive your login details, or if you need assistance with access, please contact us at Highgate.PS@education.wa.edu.au or call the school office on 9253 2700.

Families are encouraged to use Compass to report student absences and respond to any excursion or activity consent requests sent out through the system.

Please note: at this stage, only the attendance, communication, and excursion/consent features will be active. Additional functions will be introduced over time.

What Compass will offer in the future (12 - 18 months)

As Compass is rolled out fully, over time, parents and carers will have access to:

  • Up-to-date class and school attendance
  • The ability to enter future or past absences
  • Updates to your email and mobile number for alerts
  • School news, notices, and event information
  • Communication with your child’s teachers
